If it not one of these issues it might be time to get a good clock tech to take a look.
It started about two years ago and each time i would change the battery and it would start again but hours days or weeks later it would just stop.

Hi i have aquired a large vienna clock with an 8ins dial i have cleaned the clock but it keeps stopping after a couple of hours for no apparent reason it came with standard sized weights but unsure if they are origanal.

Move the pendulum back and forth with your fingers.
Gently move the hands with a finger to see if they are touching the dial the glass or each other.

When setting the time stop at every chime spot hours hours sometimes hours and allow the clock to fully chime.
If it s only slightly out of beat it could run for days but will eventually stop earlier than it should.

The clock tilts forward at top due to hook on wall have packed a bit of folded tissue under bottom edge to sit it more perpendicular to the wall.
If it s badly out of beat it will stop within a few minutes.
